Terms and Conditions

These Terms and Conditions (effective 3 June 2026) apply to all registrations for the National RAP Conference and Indigenous Governance Awards 2026, including registrations for the Conference, the IGA Gala Dinner, or both. By completing a registration, each individual agrees to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.

1. Definitions

In these Terms and Conditions:

  • Event refers to the National RAP Conference and Indigenous Governance Awards 2026,comprising the Conference and the IGA Gala Dinner collectively.
  • Conference refers to the National RAP Conference 2026 program and sessions.
  • IGA Gala Dinner refers to the Indigenous Governance Awards Gala Dinner, a separately ticketed component of the Event.

References to the "Event" throughout these Terms and Conditions apply to both components unless a clause specifically refers to the Conference or IGA Gala Dinner individually.

2. Requirement to register

  • All individuals who attend the Event are required to officially register via the online registration system.
  • When registering, the individual accepts all terms and conditions as outlined below.


3. Payment of registration fee:

  • All registration fees are payable in advance of the Event. Entry may be denied if the registration fee is unpaid prior to commencement.
  • Credit cards via our secure online registration system is the preferred method of payment. Any merchant fee is included in the ticket price.    
  • In limited circumstances, a tax invoice can be requested to allow a registration fee to be paid via EFT.

4. Sharing of registration:

  • Sharing of registrations is not permitted.
  • Each individual must purchase their own ticket. Tickets cannot be shared or used by multiple people across the event.

5. Postponement, cancellations, change of format and event components:

5.1. Postponement of face-to-face event

  • If the face-to-face event is postponed by Reconciliation Australia due to circumstances beyond Reconciliation Australia's reasonable control (as described in clause 7), attendees will be notified promptly and offered assignment of equivalent registration for the new date.
  • If the new date is unsuitable, the registration will be refunded in full within 14 business days of the delegate requesting a refund following notification of postponement.

5.2. Cancellation due to delegate change of mind:

  • Refund requests must be received in writing to conference@reconciliation.org.au and eligibility for a refund will be based on the following criteria:
  • Cancellations made more than twenty-one (21) days prior to the Event will be refunded less 10% of the registration fee to cover administration costs.
  • No registration refunds will be made after this date; however, a substitute attendee may be nominated at no charge. 
  • Registrations purchased within 21 days of the Event are non-refundable. A substitute attendee may be nominated at no charge.
  • There are no refunds whatsoever in the event an individual registers but fails to attend the Event.

5.3. Change of format - virtual delivery:

  • If the face-to-face Conference is cancelled and replaced with a virtual format due to circumstances beyond Reconciliation Australia's reasonable control (as described in clause 7), Reconciliation Australia will notify all registered delegates promptly.
  • The virtual Conference will deliver substantially similar program content adapted for online delivery, and registrations will automatically transfer to the virtual format at no additional charge. No refund will be payable in these circumstances.
  • Delegates who are unable to attend the virtual Conference may nominate a substitute attendee at no charge.
  • In the event the Conference moves to a virtual format, Reconciliation Australia will advise delegates holding Indigenous Governance Awards Gala Dinner tickets whether the Gala Dinner will proceed as a separate in-person event. Where the Gala Dinner does not proceed, delegates will be entitled to a full refund of the Gala Dinner ticket fee on written request toconference@reconciliation.org.auwithin 60 days of notification. Refunds will be processed within 14 business days of receipt of a valid request.

5.4. Cancellation by Reconciliation Australia:

  • Reconciliation Australia reserves the right to cancel the Event at any time, including due to circumstances beyond its reasonable control (as described in clause 7)
  • In the event of cancellation, Reconciliation Australia will promptly notify all registered delegates.
  • Delegates will be entitled to a full refund of registration fees paid, less a $30 administration fee per registration to cover non-recoverable payment processing costs, on written request toconference@reconciliation.org.au within 60 days of cancellation notification. Refunds will be processed within 14 business days of receipt of a valid request. Delegates may also choose to waive their refund in support of Reconciliation Australia's work. Refunds will not be available after this 60-day period.
  • Reconciliation Australia will not be responsible for any indirect or consequential losses, including travel or accommodation costs.
  • Reconciliation Australia will not have any further liability to delegates for losses, damage, liability or claim caused directly or indirectly by cancellation of the Event for any reason whatsoever.
  • Where the Indigenous Governance Awards Gala Dinner is cancelled independently of the Conference, delegates holding Gala Dinner tickets will be entitled to a refund of the Gala Dinner ticket fee on the same terms as set out above, less a $30 administration fee per ticket.

6. Program changes

  • Reconciliation Australia reserves the right to make reasonable changes to the Event venue, schedule, session format, seating configuration, presenters, delivery platform, or other operational arrangements where necessary for operational, safety, security.
  • In the unlikely event that a presenter withdraws or cannot travel, Reconciliation Australia reserves the right to make the appropriate decision in the best interest of the Event. This may include changes to the program and cancelling sessions.

7. Force majeure

  • Reconciliation Australia will not be liable for any delay or failure to perform its obligation sunder these Terms and Conditions, or for any claim, to the extent that such delay or failure is caused, in whole or in part, by an act of God, public health crisis, epidemic or pandemic, war, strike, industrial stoppage or unrest, civil commotion, fire, earthquake, shortage or disruption of suitable labour, materials, equipment, transport, utilities or energy, significant economic disruption, or other circumstances materially affecting the practical delivery or reasonable operation of the Event.
  • In such circumstances, Reconciliation Australia will use reasonable endeavours to fulfil its obligations to registered delegates and to resume normal operations as soon as reasonably possible.

8. Photography and video release

  • By registering for the Event, you give Reconciliation Australia permission to release your image/s and/or footage from the Event to positively promote and raise awareness of reconciliation and/or Reconciliation Australia.
  • Reconciliation Australia may use the images and/or footage in the following ways:
  • In the media to illustrate reconciliation and Reconciliation Australia
  • On Reconciliation Australia’s website
  • In Reconciliation Australia publications and in communication resources including social media to promote reconciliation and/or Reconciliation Australia
  • In Reconciliation Australia fundraising material
  • Provide to trusted non-commercial partners of Reconciliation Australia to promote reconciliation
  • Making available to selected partners on a commercial basis for the purposes of training and promoting awareness of reconciliation and/or Reconciliation Australia.
  • You understand copyright of the images and/or footage belongs to Reconciliation Australia, and that they will use these images and/or footage responsibly.
  • If you do not consent to your image being used, please advise in writing to conference@reconciliation.org.au.

9. Loss and injury

  • All Event attendees are advised to affect their own insurance to cover all risks including (but not limited to) costs of travel, accommodation, conference fees, personal property, health and medical expenses, injury, death and all other risks.
  • Reconciliation Australia and associated conference organisers will not be held liable for any indirect, consequential or special losses incurred by delegates, except to the extent caused by Reconciliation Australia's negligence or wilful misconduct.
  • Nothing in these Terms and Conditions excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy conferred by the Australian Consumer Law or any other applicable law that cannot lawfully be excluded.


10. Governing Law

  • These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws in force in New South Wales, Australia. Each registrant submits to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of New South Wales in connection with any dispute arising under these Terms and Conditions.

11. Privacy

  • Reconciliation Australia collects personal information from registrants for the purposes of administering the Event. This information will be handled in accordance with Reconciliation Australia's Privacy Policy and the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
  • By registering, you consent to Reconciliation Australia using your contact details to communicate with you about the Event and, where relevant, future Reconciliation Australia events and initiatives. You may opt out of non-essential communications at any time by contactingconference@reconciliation.org.au.
